Item Grading Guide

All three grades provide fully functional, tested systems. The differences between the 3 grades consist of cosmetic imperfections and not significant functional defects. We firmly believe in honesty and transparency with our customers and this guide is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the physical condition of the goods you are purchasing.

Desktop PCs, Workstations

Grade A

Excellent overall condition. The possibility of only the slightest cosmetic scuffs or marks due to normal use but these will be barely noticeable and this will be a great example for a machine of

No dents/indentations
No scratches exposing bare metal
No cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items
Some cosmetic restore paint may be used but this will not be visible

Grade B

Good overall condition. The unit may have fine scratches and scuffs which you would expect with wear and tear. Slightly larger scratches will be corrected with restored paint.

Possibility of 1 small dent/indentation less than 1cm but not on the same panel/side
No scratches exposing bare metal
No cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items
Some cosmetic restoration paint may be used and this may be visible

Grade C

Well-used condition with cosmetic imperfections. The system will be in fully functional condition but is likely to have noticeable cosmetic defects which include dints, scratches, and other imperfections.

Possibility of dents/indentations bigger than 1cm in diameter
May have scratches exposing bare metal
Possibility of cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items but do not affect the functionality of the machine
Some cosmetic restoration paint may be used and this may be visible
Badges or logos may be missing. Possibility of minor cosmetic damage to fascia or bezel

Laptops & Notebooks

Grade A

Excellent overall condition. The possibility of only the slightest cosmetic scuffs or marks due to normal use but these will be barely noticeable and this will be a great example for a laptop of its age.

No dents/indentations
No deep or noticeable scratches
No cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items
The keyboard and trackpad will have no shine
Some cosmetic restore paint may be used but this will not be visible
No dead pixels, dark patches, or pressure marks on the screen

Grade B

Good overall condition. The laptop may have fine scratches and scuffs which you would expect from fair wear and tear. There may be slightly larger scratches corrected with restore paint or the laptop may have a vinyl skin covering.

Possibility of minor dents/indentations but these will be barely noticeable
No deep scratches but there may be minor hairline marks on the chassis casing
No cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items
Possibility of very slight wear marks on the trackpad and keyboard
The screen will have no pressure marks, dead pixels, or dark patches
Some cosmetic restore paint may be used which is visible/noticeable
Possible minor cosmetic damage to cooling vents

Grade C

Well-used condition with cosmetic imperfections. The laptop will be in fully functional condition but is likely to have noticeable cosmetic defects which include dints, scratches, chips, and other imperfections.

Possibility of dents/indentations but no bigger than 1cm in diameter
May have deep and clearly visible scratches on the chassis casing
Possibility of cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items but which don’t affect the functionality
The screen may have a single pressure mark and/or up to 10 dead pixels
Badges or logos may be missing. Possibility of minor cosmetic damage to fascia or bezel
The lid closing latch may be broken or missing
May have shiny keys or trackpad and clear signs of keyboard use

Monitors & All-In-One Desktop PCs

Grade A

Excellent overall condition. The possibility of only the slightest cosmetic scuffs or marks due to normal use but these will be barely noticeable.

No dents/indentations
No deep or noticeable scratches
No dead pixels, dark patches, or pressure marks on the screen
No cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items
Some cosmetic restore paint may be used but this will not be visible
The stand may have light scuffing but no damage or cracks

Grade B

Good overall condition. The unit may have fine scratches and scuffs which you would expect from fair wear and tear on a unit of its age.

Possibility of minor dents/indentations but these will be barely noticeable
No deep scratches but there may be minor hairline marks on the chassis casing
No cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items
May have more noticeable scuffs on the stand but no cracks or damage
No dark patches, scratches, or pressure marks on the screen
May have up to 5 dead pixels on the screen
Some cosmetic restore paint may be used which is visible/noticeable

Grade C

Well-used condition with cosmetic imperfections. The item will be in fully functional condition but is likely to have noticeable cosmetic defects which include dents, scratches, chips, dead pixels, and other imperfections.

Possibility of dents/indentations on the surround no bigger than 1cm in diameter
May have deep and clearly visible scratches on the chassis casing and/or stand
Possibility of cracked plastics or missing cosmetic items but not affecting functionality
The screen may have a single pressure mark and/or up to 10 dead pixels
The screen may have light scratches of 1cm to 2cm
Badges or logos may be missing. Possibility of minor cosmetic damage to fascia or bezel
